Anti Aging Natural Supplements Basics (Food for thoughts!)

The way I see things, anti aging natural supplements can be put in one of three categories:
1) the “real” natural ones;
2) the “derived-from-natural-source" ones; and
3) the not-so-natural ones.
In the first category would enter anti aging supplements that are not transformed, or that are transformed to a degree that do not alter them radically. For instance, valerian, as a medical herb, can be transformed into powder, and this powder can be put into gel caps. Taking these gel caps is an easy way to induce sleep in a natural way, especially since valerian has a bad taste (and we all know how crucial getting enough sleep is to the anti aging process).
Another anti aging supplement that could make it to this category would be frozen wheat grass juice; it is simply prepared in order to make it easier to take. As a rule of thumb, if you wouldn’t be able to prepare a supplement all by yourself in your kitchen with basic techniques and utensils, then it's probably not that "natural".
Among the other anti aging natural supplements that are “really natural”, we could mention flax seed powder, known for its high omega-3 fat and dietary fibre content. All you need to produce that “supplement” is a bag of flax seeds and a coffee grinder (or better yet, a mechanical grain mill, which won't create the heat which could affect the seeds properties).
In the second category – the anti aging natural supplements that are “less” natural – we’d have for instance whey protein. I don’t think you can figure out quickly how to make whey; neither can I. Still, that doesn't mean that whey protein isn't good for some of us; it's just that, even though it's made out of a natural produce (milk), it can’t be found in nature “as is” (and by the way, I think that the milk of cows is not very suitable for human consumption, but that's another story, and I still love Gruyère, Brie and Reblochon...).
In the third category – the anti aging natural supplements that, in my view, are not natural –, we’d have things like creatine: even though nitrogenous organic acid does occurs naturally in vertebrates, it is not something that Mother Nature grows on trees, just like blood does not flow from natural springs like water does… The fact is, our body produces creatine from foods we eat… as long as we eat the right things! I, for one, would recommend creatine to a vegetarian wishing to work out, but I would not recommend it to someone that eats meat or fish daily. And what about aging anti growth hormone? Well, you decide…
That being said, I don’t think that the less-natural anti aging natural supplements are less effective than the more natural ones; it's just a matter of knowing what you're taking in, and for what purpose. Nonetheless, for this web site, I've decided to create distinct sections for each one of those supplements categories.
Anti aging supplements that are little transformed
Natural supplements that are transformed to a higher degree
Antiaging supplements that can't be created out of a laboratory
