Anti Aging Program

Anti aging program is now a very popular and profitable field. It is part of age management programs found everywhere in the world these days. Age management programs are on the increase and naturally one has to be wary of the pros and cons of them.

First look at an anti age program that is not regarded in a favorable light any longer. It is the use of growth hormone and other such supplements to fight the symptoms of aging. The Food and Drug Administration of most countries have prohibited the use of these products. The usual reason is that the side effects often exceed the anticipated benefits. It is neither safe nor wise to use such a method although it may offer temporary benefits.

An anti aging program can be defined as any program which slows down or reverses aging through medical or scientific interventions. So, naturally, preventive measures take up a significant portion of the techniques we come across in any anti aging program. It has been recognized that a purely medical program relies on nutrition regulation, hormonal or cell based therapies, genetic manipulations, and other medications. Of these, we have already found objections to the use of hormones. That leaves nutrition, cell based therapy, and genetic manipulations as feasible medical therapies. Here again, there are several people who object to genetic manipulations on the ground that the full consequences of that are yet to be found out. These reflections naturally teach us to be cautious in adopting any anti aging program blindly.

One can say that the very corner stone of a successful anti aging program is the balanced use of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Of these antioxidants combat some free radicals that hasten aging. The best sources for antioxidants are fruits and vegetables. When we use vitamins and minerals therapeutically, they will fight diseases and quicken recovery too. However, there is one problem. As we grow older the absorption of vitamins and minerals drops considerably. It is especially poor in those who drink alcohol, eat poorly, smoke, or take some prescription drugs. So, we should take care to consume more vitamins and minerals as we grow older. This anti aging program is time tested and harmless. It is fairly easy too.

Another important factor in a successful anti aging program is caloric restriction. Provided it doesn’t lead to malnutrition, caloric restriction is shown to extend lifespan and slow aging. Caloric restriction seems to slow down many age-dependent processes and thereby extend lifespan. An innovative development in this area of anti aging programs is the anti aging fasting program, which aims at cleansing the body of harmful substances and slowing down the aging process and promoting life extension.
