What's the Best Antiaging Cream?
How anyone can claim to have found the best antiaging cream is beyond me. I mean, did they test it over a long period of time on just about every skin types? Probably not; but to make a quick buck, they're ready to say just about anything. Today I will try to uncover how antiaging creams work and what you should be looking for when seeking what could be the best antiaging cream for YOU, depending on your skin type and your age, and depending on the results you're expecting. The best antiaging cream is different for everyone because everyone's skin is different. If you're like some people, you'll need one specifically formulated for dry skin, if that's your skin type. Or you may have acne or other types of problems with your skin, which will need its own type of antiaging cream. However, there are some pointers that you can look for to choose one specific to your skin type that will work for you. First, you might have to experiment to pick the best antiaging cream for you. For starters, at least, go with a brand that's trusted, such as a brand name or a physician-recommended one. Once you've found one you like, stick with it. Because everyone's skin is different, even "inactive" ingredients can change the way a cream works on your skin; for example, a generic brand that's touted to be "comparable to" your favorite brand is going to be ever so slightly different, since that formulation is going to be slightly different at least in terms of inactive ingredients. It might be fine, but it might also completely change the way it works so that it's not right for you. Once you have found a brand you like, you can experiment if you want to with more inexpensive generic "equals," but be prepared to go back to the brand name if the generic doesn't work out. Second, the brand you choose should have the active ingredients listed near the top of the ingredients label. You want to look for high levels of active ingredients, to make sure you get the most benefit out of your antiaging cream. Third, these days, delivery systems count. What's a delivery system? It's the way the active ingredients are distributed on your skin, so that they can be absorbed and therefore utilized much better. For example, you might look for words such as "nanoparticles" or "microencapsulation." This means that the active ingredients work better and can be absorbed more quickly. Fourth, you'll find the best antiaging cream online, usually. Not only do you have an easy way to find the exact brand you're looking for (once you find the one that works best for you), but you also get the best price, since you can comparison shop very easily on the Internet. However, before you've found a cream that works for you, you should probably buy at your usual brick-and-mortar store, so that you can test it out first. Some places will also offer samples so that you're not out any money while you're trying different creams out. Fifth, read customer reviews, again online. Now, this isn't foolproof, since as I said before people's skin types are different so that different creams will work for different people. Therefore, someone might rave about a cream and if you get it, you find it's just not working for you. However, if a lot of people are raving about a particular cream, you know that you can choose that one and maybe one or two others to find one that works for you. Find the creams that get the best reviews, and then choose those to try. This can help you narrow down your choices considerably, which makes it easier to buy the best antiaging cream for you. Here's something else to think about. If you do find more than one best antiaging cream for you, then it's time to take other factors into consideration. Of course, if you find a cream that works best for you and then you stop looking, no problem. But if during the course of your research you find more than one, then you'll want to consider a couple of things. First of all, cost. Most of us aren't rich and we want to get the best value for our dollar. In this case, of course, you'll probably want to choose the least expensive of your choices. A second consideration when you're trying to decide between two creams is that some may show results faster than others. Now, here's a caveat. Of course, we all want fast results, but if you find a product that works for you and its only drawback is that it shows antiaging benefits later rather than sooner (but still makes your skin feel great), that might not be a problem. As long as the results are eventually achieved, maybe it's not important to you that they occur a little more slowly than with a more pricey product. However, if fast results are important you, you probably want to go with that product (assuming it is more expensive) if you can afford to. If you can wait, then the cheaper product is still your best bet. Finally, some people opt not to use commercial antiaging skin creams at all. For them, the best antiaging cream is made from their own recipe, with natural ingredients. Oils such as grapeseed or wheat germ oil will help your skin both if you ingest them in moderate amounts and rub just a little bit topically on your skin. For best results, do so just after a shower; lightly tall dry so that your skin is still damp, and take just a few drops of the oil and rub lightly over your skin. If you wait a few seconds, the oil should absorb completely so that you don't feel greasy at all, just soft. If your skin is particularly prone to acne, this might not be a good idea, but it's worth a try. To exfoliate, you can also make your own natural scrubs using a simple salt or sugar scrub. All you do is wet your face, dip wet fingers into either sugar or salt (or use a rough washcloth or other slightly rough material), and rub on your face thoroughly. The salt or sugar will dissolve before they can damage your skin, but still makes a wonderful exfoliant. You can also combine either of these two ingredients with a skin softening natural agent like honey.
